No Smoke Without Smoke!
I'm a lucky boy because I've
never smoked; when my mates were experimenting with it at school
I asked one of them (I think it was Lugs Dishman but it may have
been Lugs Blackler. He had lugs, anyway, so it wouldn't have
been Lugless Douglas. Joke.) what it felt like when you put a
cigarette in your mouth.
'It feels like a hard-boiled egg' he said, spluttering.
Now, I don't know if Lugs was being accurate or not, but at the
time I hated hard boiled eggs, so I was put off for life.
I'm proud that The Shed is a no-smoking venue, and I think that
in a perfect world (which is the one we're aiming for, isn't
it ?) all venues should be smoke free. Let's get rid of the ridiculous
idea that smoking is somehow romantic and sexy and artistic.
It isn't. It stinks and it kills you and those around you.
And once we've achieved the smoking ban, we'll get the boiled
egg ban! Now that will change the world!
